Analysis of the Chinese Characters for Better Understanding [19 Feb 2017|08:32am]

ext_3941923
When we analyze something we better understand and quickly memorize it. The same is with the learning Chinese characters.

When we see and understand what radicals and components the character consists of, our mind does not resist to absorbing this information. We easily learn what we understand.

If we do not understand the structure of a character, then we need to spend hours and days writing and writing this character.

Let us have a look at the decomposition the Chinese character 我 wǒ ‘I’ :

丿 piě slash,
找 zhǎo look for,

Now the character我 wǒ ‘I’ looks more familiar to us, doesn’t it?

NB. Synonyms: Structural analysis of the Chinese characters, Breakdown of the Chinese characters.

Hazing [02 Apr 2006|01:17am]
answer_seekers
Hello, we are two students at Rochester Institute of Technology currently engaged in an independent study project addressing the issue of hazing in New York. The goal of this project is two-pronged - we wish to discover the prevalence of hazing in the state as well as get your opinion on what should be done about it, if anything.

Under the lj-cut is our survey, which asks a variety of questions about your personal experiences with hazing, and we would greatly appreciate it if you could take a minute or two from your time to fill it out really quickly. We even have questions at the beginning for those who have never experienced hazing but wish to share their opinion on the subject. Additionally, each question gives you the option to answer in more detail beyond the choices we have already provided. We encourage you to take advantage of this if you have more include in your answer.

Your responses to this survey are anonymous, so please do not put your name (or any information that would identify you) anywhere on this survey. You may quit the survey at any time and for any reason, or you may decline to answer any of the questions, but your responses to every question are important and we ask that you answer as many of the questions as you possibly can. You may post your answers however you like - under your user name, anonymously, or you may e-mail them to us at hazing.survey@gmail.com. All posts will be screened, so no one except you, us, and the community administrator will be able to see your responses.

Please inform us of any questions, concerns, or feedback you might have. If you do not feel that this survey belongs in this community, or if you are offended by any part of it, please let us know and we will be more than willing to take it down. Thank you in advance for your time.

I have an extra ticket to the Metric concert on Friday March 10th. I will sell if for less than it cost: it's a $20 ticket and I will give it to you for $15. It turns out I have to go home for spring break earlier that day. It should be an excellent show.
If you're interested, leave a note here, IM me on Strawberyfield03 or call me at 410-236-5873. My name is Alex.
Thanks!

Hi, My name is Samantha and I just finished applying RD for BC! My interview is on January 8th and I am very nervous. Any tips for someone with a less than stellar math SAT score and overall math grades?

Anyway, I was reading through the older posts and I was wondering if there was a community along the same lines for the class of 2010? Thanks. :-)

If this is not allowed, delete it and sorry.

Hey BC09!

I hope you've been enjoying NSOP! You might know me as "Martha" (the hyper girl) from the college night skit. But that's besides the point.

I'm posting to tell you all about a little site called DogEars.net. it's a great place to buy cheap school books. you buy directly from other students at CU and you just meet them on campus to complete the sale. Please tell all your friends about it too! i need to buy 30 books for this semester and desperately need to sell my books from last year!

Thanks and have a great first semester at Barnard!!!

Hey girls. After you're done checking your course schedule, pop over here to see what textbooks you'll need. (Click the textbooks tab.)

Is the First Year Reach Out (F.Y.R.O.) mandatory?

I've read all the info on it, and decided not to participate, but I received a "final reminder" today, so now I'm unsure.

Are any of you guys having trouble accessing your account (the tab that shows you how much you owe) through ebear?
I logged in tonight to see what the total was (not like I don't have it memorized already) and it said "no data available"--what on earth can that mean?
is anyone else having this problem?

No one has posted in here in awhile--what's the matter? Aren't we all bubbling over with excitement about going to BC in the fall? (Well, I still don't know if I'm going for sure, but that's beside the point...)

Anyway, I'm the moderater and I certainly did not put any effort into making our community look good. I didn't even use Barnard colors. So I was thinking that at least ONE of us 09ers has some ljlayouting skills and would like to lend said skills to the community in order to make us look prettier. Whaddya think? Doesn't have to be anything too fancy, especially since this isn't a paid account.

On another note, I'm probably going to switch LJ names because this one is getting old. And it's stupid.

ALSO: Has anyone received a huge package from Barnard lately? I remember this time last year I was getting TONS and TONS of things from them and the last thing I got was the First Year Guidebook about choosing an academic program. I've only gotten one lame brochure (the one for the fleece blanket) and last year I was getting them almost every day (XLong sheets, laundry services, etc.)... is anyone else getting these? I also remember getting a book in the mail--has anyone gotten a book yet? What about info on orientation? Unless my memory is completely and utterly failing me, I think we should have SOME of these things by now.

By the way, I'm really excited to find out who my roommate is going to be. And what room I end up in.

Oh, and: what books are you guys reading this summer? I've been reading a mix of semi-educational and smut (from poisonwood bible to citizen girl)... anyone have any other suggestions?

Thanks,
Maggie
